Virginia Turfgrass Council

The Virginia Turfgrass Council is a member run non-profit association. We were established in 1960 as a partnership between industry professionals and university professors and our unwavering mission is to unify efforts to promote turfgrass improvement and advancement of the turfgrass industry in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

In pursuit of that mission, we partner with regulatory agencies, industry professionals, university experts, various associations, and many others. Together, we work hard to develop, identify, and promote environmentally friendly practices that provide safe and pleasurable lawns, parks, sports facilities, and golf courses.

Come to the Bay, which is a newly established conference held every February in Virginia Beach, is an excellent example of collaboration. This conference provides state of the art training for industry professionals and even offers a career day for high school students interested in pursuing careers in the green industry. Details are at a dedicated web site: www.cometothebay.org.
