MOM’s annual “Save the Dandelions” event helps raise public awareness on the damaging and lasting effects that toxic lawn chemicals have on our environment, wildlife, pollinators and health. Every year, 3 million tons of fertilizer and 33,500 tons of synthetic pesticide are used on U.S. lawns in an effort to make them look “healthy.” But, lawn care chemicals don’t just stay on lawns–they end up in our waterways and airway, are ingested by wildlife, and ultimately wreak havoc on our ecosystem and personal health.  MOM’s promotes organic lawn care methods by hosting our annual Save the Dandelions event bringing together beekeepers, organic farmers, non-profits and community groups to address this issue and celebrate spring!
