Cypress Creek Golfers’ Club

Smithfield, Virginia

Membership Type: Silver

Project Summary

Cypress Creek Golfers’ Club is the first Golf Course to join the Businesses for the Bay Membership Association!

Located just across the James River from Williamsburg and Hampton VA, the 18-hole “Cypress Creek” course at the Cypress Creek Golfers’ Club facility in Smithfield, Virginia features 7,169 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The layout tests the golfer with challenging shots in a pristine setting that is a “must see/must play” for everyone who enjoys a memorable Hampton Roads golf experience.

The staff at Cypress Creek Golfers’ Club often observe native wildlife on the property and plan to install, maintain, and monitor wildlife habitat structures including 5 songbird nest boxes and brush piles (in the forested areas) and turtle basking areas (in the pond).

The team is also concerned about keeping trash out of Cypress Creek, the James River, and other local waterbodies. They maintain 5 cigarette butt receptacles around the club house area and maintenance facility and regularly pick up trash from their property and the local stream. They have plans to add dog waste stations throughout the property, providing a spot for people to properly dispose of pet waste, keeping open areas and waterways safe!
