Project Summary

The Lockheed Martin – Owego, NY facility is our first B4B Member in New York! Their team is committed to protecting their local waterways and habitats by participating in multiple trash clean-ups a year. They adopted Route 38 between Owego and Newark Valley for employee trash clean-ups (12 employees volunteer, cleaning up the road). In 2018, they also cleaned-up a Waterman Conservation Education Center site through “Day of Caring”. They also host an annual e-waste event that encourages employees to recycle their personal electronic waste and hold an annual Earth Day event for employees, to help raise awareness about local environmental issues. Their 2018 Earth Day event was a huge success;  250 employees participated and there were 4  vendors/organizations with exhibits. Their 2018 e-waste recycling event was also a huge success; 8 pallets (~3,500 lbs.) of electronic waste was collected from over 50 employees!

In December 2017, they installed an energy-efficient cooling tower.
