A pioneer in groundbreaking scientific and engineering developments since the 1960s, TRC is a national engineering, environmental consulting and construction management firm providing integrated services to the power, oil and gas, environmental and infrastructure markets. TRC has over 4,000 technical professionals and support personnel at more than 120 offices throughout the U.S.
The Richmond Office is a Gold Businesses for the Bay Member; all of their actions focus on environmental education for employees and increased employee participation in outdoor environmental activities. TRC’s corporate sustainability policy includes many goals, including: recycling, energy usage, carbon footprint reduction, and local community participation. Richmond office employees discuss and implement these corporate goals through their office “Green Team” and “Sustainable Energy Team”. The TRC sustainability coordinator holds environmental sustainability webinars and sends monthly “Sustainability Snapshots” to staff; the snapshots discuss TRC’s sustainability actions as well as sustainability programs at their clients’ sites. The Richmond team has implemented a “Green Moment” to discuss various green initiatives after each staff call. For example, in July 2017, their “Green Moment” was about reducing emissions.
For over 20 years, TRC has been an active volunteer with the Mattaponi and Pamunkey Rivers Association (MPRA), a non-profit dedicated to environmental education and stewardship of the Mattaponi and Pamunkey Rivers. MPRA has coordinated annual river clean-ups for 25 years and the TRC Companies, Inc. – Richmond Office team recently volunteered in the June 2017 clean-up. There are also monthly trash clean-ups in the James River Park System (in Richmond, VA) that TRC employees are planning to participate in.
